Russian-backed militants mount 27 attacks on Ukraine army in Donbas in past day – JFO HQ

Russian-backed militants have mounted 27 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in the past day, using 122mm artillery systems and 120mm and 82mm mortars four times, fired on Talakivka from artillery on Sunday evening, the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) has said.

"Hostilities were most active near the town of Avdiyivka, and the villages of Novotroyitske, Hnutove and Lebedynske," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on June 4, 2018.

It is specified that the militants violated the cease-fire regime 27 times, four of them by opening fire from heavy weapons - artillery of 122-mm caliber and mortars of 120 mm and 82 mm calibers.

"The invaders continue to violate international humanitarian law. At about 21:00 last night, they shelled the village of Talakivka from 152mm guns, having lobbed at least three shells into the settlement. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Information about destruction is being verified. No killed and wounded are reported among the Ukrainian military over the past day," reads the report.

There are no casualties among JFO forces over past day.

According to intelligence reports, one invader was killed.

"The situation along the contact line remains unchanged today, June 4. At about 04:30 Kyiv time, the enemy opened fire from 82mm mortars near the village of Zaitseve. A response to their provocation was adequate," the press center said.
